SAN ANTONIO, September 24, 2015 – CIG Logistics, an industry-leading oil and gas logistics provider, has been awarded the contract to operate and manage the Southton Rail Yard in San Antonio.

The 300-acre rail yard is designed for transloading and storage of energy-related products for the Eagle Ford Shale play. With 160 direct train-to-truck car spots and an ideal location, the Southton Rail Yard has the perfect capacity and proximity to South Texas drilling sites to help oil producers reduce overall supply chain costs.

“CIG Logistics was a natural selection to manage our rail yard and we’re confident its world-class inventory management, operational efficiency and reliability will ensure all our rail yard customers receive outstanding transloading and storage services,” said Kevin Bowen, Chief Executive Officer of Shale Support, owner of the Southton Rail Yard.

CIG will be supporting the Southton Rail Yard with operational expertise as well as business development. CIG encourages customers in the oil, gas, agriculture, and commodities businesses to consider the Southton Rail Yard as a strategic hub for South Texas distribution.

“CIG Logistics is proud to operate the Southton Rail Yard and we’re committed to improving management and efficiency for all rail yard customers,” said Michael Collins, CIG Logistics Vice President of Business Development. “As the oil industry faces market challenges, we’ll ensure all producers using the Southon Rail Yard receive reliable and cost effective supply chain operations to help grow their business.”
